(6/73F) of October 2nd, I approve the action taken
by the Acting British Consul-General at Canton and
yourself in regard to the seizure of the British
Motor Vessel "Wing Hung" by the Chinese authorities on
account of opium smuggling and I sanction your
proposal to withhold British protection from this
vessel.
